Portfolio day review

Attending portfolio day was an interesting and insightful experience. I wanted to see what kind of work my peers were creating and how colleges would react to my work. I brought my first 20 pieces from the year, leaving my best works at the school in hopes that the schools would react well to my first pieces. The schools that I visited had only possitive things to say towards the work and expected alot from me and the work to come. I visited SMFA, the art institute if San Fransisco, Kansas city art institute and UArts. All 4 schools loved the work that i had presented and wanted me to apply right away. Although i knew going in that i would not be able to attend these schools, i simply wanted to see what kind of feedback i would get for my work.

Your Site

Marcos,

I’ve checked out your site and made a few minor adjustments. It does my heart proud to see you taking care of business. If you maintain this sense of responsibility along with your art-making prowess you will truly be a leader by example, aka. da man…

Bottletar recap

To me, my bottletar represents many things. The hat that it wears indicates my heritage and my sense of fashion. The distorted face shows my passion for art and how chaotic my life can get. As for the hair and the limbs, they show how much i have changed over my life and how the stages of life can change us so dramatically, yet we are still the same person.

100 Pieces of Art!

Marcos,

Your first 100 art jawns are muy coolio! I would really like for you to consider doing a comic book/zine-type gizmo thing. You should do it as your sketchbook for the marking period. It looks to me like the family art tradition is safe so far…

Your first images

Marcos,

I uploaded your first set of images. We’ll scan and upload the backs as soon as you finish them. As you can see I also played with your header image. You can change it if you want.

Try to get your papers uploaded as soon as possible. I want to to have an A in my class.
